Solutions incorporating some of these ideas might be useful in the extended learning spaces, particularly for 7th and 8th grade, and perhaps even for the professional development area.

Digitally focused collaborative workspaces
From reading the recently posted article about Digital Learning, students want a digitally rich learning environment, unencumbered by traditional rules. Furniture manufacturers are providing better and better solutions for collaborative digitally focused workspaces. Here are some examples from Steelcase.

I've been trying to get my hands on a couch/love seat for a few years now that I can throw into the corner of my classroom with a coffee table in front. "Collaboration Corner" would be the perfect place for groups of students with laptops, notebooks, or other supplies to brainstorm ideas for projects or do some problem-solving.
